Groetchen FAKE 2a.jpg

The Groetchen "Penny Smoke" NEVER came with these Phoney-Made-Up
Cigar Band reel strips & award card. This is another Fake creation by the
Vegas Butcher. He had someone make this crap up from scratch, and has
used them in other machines in the past. Don't get snookered with this one. :^o

Buckley FAKE 2a.JPG

Here is another made-up version of the "Puritan Baby Vendor". There were
some of this model that had these reel strips, but not this one. They were
special models, and NONE ever had an award card like this. It is totally
made-up from scratch. Therefore a FAKE. Also with repro reel strips. The
description says "it has been restored at one time in the past". Yeah, like
last week! He will never-ever list one word of truth in any of his descriptions.
This machine also never came in this god-awful color. Nor were the back doors
ever painted like this. :^o
Don't get Snookered with this Crap, and spread the word around.

Buckley FAKE 1.JPG

Here is yet another Complete FAKE by the Vegas Butcher.
There is NO SUCH THING as a Buckley Bar Boy. The reel strips are Tavern repro's,
and the award card is a Tavern repro as well, with the Name changed. He has
done others like this in the past. It was originally a Buckley "Cent-A-Pack", with
the nameplate removed from the top. All of these 3 reel Buckley machines, have
"Ball Gum" in the casting, underneath all the different plates.
One person in the past, got nailed with one just like this, and made the Butcher
take it back. Shame more don't do the same!

Daval Fake (carvedpumpkin).JPG

Here is another FAKE, that someone bought from the Butcher,
and is now trying to unload his mistake on eBay, to some other
unsuspecting soul.
The recast jackpot NEVER-EVER came on this Daval model.
The reel strips are original, but the award card is a made-up Phoney.
I wrote the seller, but he refuses to correct his description.

I also got a call from a collector, asking me if this thing was legit.
He was happy to find out that it wasn't correct, even though it
would be easy to put this one back to original, by removing the JP.
Oh yes! Then you have to get the correct award card & frame. #-o

Why COCA accepts him as a member unbelievable. I sent an email to Doug Cain (COCA President) about Fred. Still waiting for an answer for at least six months. Maybe COCA just wants his dues.

Now where do you suppose this contraption came from?
That's right........Another Fantasy Creation from the renowned-clown, Vegas Butcher!
The shame of it all, as Plain-Jane as this model is, it does not turn up very often, and
he had to screw it up, with one of his cut-down recast jackpots. That particular JP style,
only comes on one Groetchen model. Even though it's a lousy recast, he still cut off the
award card frame, and mounting tabs, to plaster it on this machine. What a shame! [-X

Hi Ron:
Nothing was ever carved in stone, but the only info that ever came up
between Dick Bueschel & Myself, involving our research on this model,
is that it was most likely made by National Coin Machine, as it has a
similar 'Plain-Jane' case style to a couple of other models that were
produced by them. But as you well know, with all the thievery in the
coin-op business, it could very well be a 'Copy-Cat' model. The one I
have, has no markings of any kind, to lend a clue. How about yours?
One of my other variations, does have a name in the casting, but I
can't remember which one. I have two different models that have
an ABT coin slide on the front, instead of the standard coin slot and
handle mechanism. One of them is shown in Dick's Bible. The "Penny
King", on page 141.
Bill

P.S. If someone does happen to buy this Butchers Fantasy machine,
I hope they remove that Phoney jackpot, and put it back to original
state. I remember when he bought this on eBay, about a year ago.
It was a nice original, before he screwed it up.
I hope that members of this Forum, take a good-close-look at all the
recast parts that the Butcher is selling, (of which he never says are
recasts). Especially the back doors and jackpots. They have got to be
some of the WORST recasts I have ever seen. Use the magnifier feature,
and you will see the many flaws. They appear to have been cast in
gravel, not sand. Talk about a ton of work, to get them anywhere near
smooth! Then with the doors, you have the shrinkage, which I am sure,
were never built-up before having them cast. I wouldn't waste my time
with any of his recasts, even if they were Free!
There is always clean-up of slag, and finish details with any recasts, but
not to the extent of the Junk he offers. There are other sources for good
recast doors, that fit right, so don't be too hasty in purchases like these.

I am surprised no one has knocked him out at a show or auction.

Bill the machine is now junk. He drilled holes to mount the BS jackpot. This machine doesn't have and award card frame.
My machine has the following numbers. There are no other markings. I do not have the original back cover.
S500 thru S504
