Here's a dice machine that I haven't seen before. Does anyone know anything more about it?

The machine was made by Western. It is almost idenitcal to the Rock-Ola Black Magic dicer. The Black Magic is much rarer and more desirable.

The Mysterious Eye is a pretty cool machine (I fixed one many years ago).

The way it works is really ingenious. The dice are actually shaved so the machine knows what the dice is showing based on how much clearance exists when the floor holding the dice raises up at the end of the game.

The tolerances are very fine. The seller does not state if it is using the original dice or not. If it is using regulation dice the machine will not pay correctly. The seller also does not state if the machine pays out as it should.

If you get it, expect to spend time under the hood to keep it working. I expect this is the reason why not many are around. I suspect a lot got thrown out because they didn't work right.

These machines are operated by battery and if you get one you should make sure there is no damage from leaking batteries.

If you want to see a video of the inside of the machine go to http://www.ibuyoldslots.com/COCD click on Slots (on the right side of the screen), then on the left side click on Other Gambling machines, then click on Dice Games, then click on Mysterious Eye.

I also noticed that the auction is a Private Auction.

Just thought I would post a follow up.

The seller reduced the Buy It Now price to $3,200 and then took it off eBay.

I decided to search the (shameless plug :D) AntiqueSlotMachinePriceGuide for "Mysterious Eye" and see the seller just bought the machine on eBay for $1,200 on July 2nd.
