Mills Chevron QT Parts WANTED

Postby gvt1911 » Mon Jan 02, 2023 12:31 pm

Picked up a Mills QT "Chevron" 1 cent model that needs a lot of TLC... From first glance, I am in need of a wood base (original is rotted) , back door with lock, replacement front lock, reel strips, award card and other misc. items that are broke or missing... I have yet to really get into the mech as of yet... Will need handle plated also...Any leads will be appreciated..
Thanks , Joe

I have a nice close to original repro front lock. Rick Frink has award cards and reel strips. Spring kit available on eBay from Dave Berten. Message me for lock info. Thanks, Robert McCurdy (or email: rmccurdy@osprey.net)

OK,
I need what I believe is called a "throw-out Chute" ...Also I am curious as to this screw? Seems that I need to braze the bushing in properly and then make a screw that goes thru to the other side of this "flipper"..??? Can anyone advise how long this screw should be or have an original???
Thanks

That is a check pusher screw and it is difficult to locate (as well as the check diverter). Many operators removed this part and the check diverter (located in front of the coin tube) since the machine was usually used only with coins. I am having some screws custom made currently and will let you know when they are finished. The other part is the reject coin chute and I will have to look through some boxes in storage and see if I have an extra. I also do QT repairs if you don't want to tackle a specific part of the slot. I’ve recently acquired a Mills 1 cent QT missing the check separator as well. Can’t help it but would love to find these parts as well, shoot if I even find these parts then I’d have to find a load of penny checks to go with it.. ohh well…
Sorry for hijacking on your post but couldn’t help but find a new found fascination for what I call my little 6 clicker!
Good luck and hope you find your parts!

Moving right along on this rebuild. I made the pusher screw and the throw out chute. Now I could REALLY use those photos from the book. I purchased the book on a thumb drive, but the illustrations are terrible. I am hoping that someone that has the book could possibly make good photo copies of all the important detailed illustrations for a small fee. This would help me out a lot. :!:
