Bought a .25c War Eagle Today

I was really leery about buying a .25c War Eagle, Picked one up today. A parking lot meet / deal. Paid 2G's . Hope I did ok. Serial # 269968 Opinions welcome ? (Harbor Freight hydraulic table sheds paint like crazy, poor metal prep prior to painting, no primer used , China, but, better than lifting 90 pounds )

Wow! Looks like you didn't get ripped-off with a Repro, like many do. It looks like a nicely restored original to me.
Would have liked to see a pix of the back & insides, but from what I do see, it has the correct case, with the bolts
through the base, and the skid-rails, correct handle, white background reel strips, operating jackpot, normal coin
spacing in the escalator, correct casting colors, and most importantly, 2-Cherry payout. If the rest is totally orig.
as well, your 2G purchase was a fair price. I have seen way-too-many repro's go for more than that, mainly because
buyers do not do their homework first. I don't blame you for being a bit leery with the buy, as most all repro's are of
quarter denomination, as that is the coin-of-choice for most. Congrats!

Two more photos. Thanks for the reply, my heart was thumpin when I was counting out those $100.00 bills, but this machine looks to be the real deal inside and out to he best of my ability to determine it's authenticity.

Center reel glass is starting to delaminate and yellowing , the reel strip themselves are all the same color. Award card may be original as well. Paint shows some wear. Machine plays well.

Congratulations; that is a great find;
you don't often see originals in this condition.

If you decide to replace the piece of glass and get a repro award card,
recommend you keep the originals in the cash box for future reference
(protected from entering coins, of course).

After seeing these views, I take back what I said before. This hasn't been restored. It is a Totally Original machine, in excellent condition.
There is a couple of areas that look like there was a wee-bit of paint touch-up, but maybe not, as the factory was a bit sloppy at times,
with going over the margins. Now with this said, I would like to peek inside as well.
You have made a better-than-average purchase. With the money you saved, you can put a decent paintjob on your scraped-up Harbor Freight lifter.
Better yet, how about having a piece of aluminum diamond plate cut for the top?
Oh, by the way, "DO NOT under any circumstances restore this machine". It is worth more, just the way it is.

Some of the screws of the escalator have red paint on them. I don't see anything worn inside the machine. All the springs look fine. The paint on the outside of the machine is kind of worn though.
