If anyone goes to the Chicago show, I hope they take pictures...I won't be able to go but would like to see pictures from anyone that attended. Even the outside vendors would be great...I hear you need to get there early in the morning...

I am interested in the gumball and peanut machines....But the show in general would be good for someone like me that has never gotten to attend. Outside, Inside...all would be great...I have heard there is about as much going on outside as there is inside...

Friday the preview day is the time to go. The lot is free. It does cost $50.00 to go inside but it's worth it. Sat. & Sun. are only $7.00 and packed. The sellers will open up their trucks as early as 4:30am. Actually there are more gumball machines & parts outside than inside. Scott Tidball has a ton of parts in the lot.

I was looking through some of the old magazines I found in the basement, this one is "The Coin Slot" from the fall of 1987. In here they also list the "Chicagoland Antique Advertising, Slot-Machine & Jukebox Show"

funny, the prices are $4 per day, Saturday and Sunday, and the dealer preview back then was still $50 for Friday!!!

This was at the Pheasant Run Mega Center in St. Charles, IL

I also seem to remember going to another slot machine show in Chicago (?) that as I recall was in a pretty old building, but I'm talking 25+ years ago and I was barely a teenager (if I was a teenager)

That's something $50.00 in 1987. Guess I can't complain when I pay on the preview day. I lived in Chicago all my life. The only old buildings that I can think of are the Chicago Stadium or the International Ampitheater. Both have been torn down.

Maybe I went to "The Chicagoland Antique Slot Machine and Antique Show" in DuPage County Fairgrounds, Wheaton, IL?

This was from a September 1981 "The Coin Slot" magazine.

Interesting a lot of the names I see advertising in the old magazines are still advertising their wares. The sad part is many of the slot machine prices have stagnated for 20+ years

The weather was great Friday morning so most of the vendors were leaving almost everything in the parking lot for an extended period. Paying $50 might not have been the best idea although it does allow admission for all 3 days. I took some pictures but can't currently download them due to computer problems. I also took about 100 pictures at the COCA meeting at Jasper Sanfilippos. That was an experience you won't soon forget. I saw where someone called it a million dollar collection but that doesn't even come close.
