3 Jacks and 5 Jacks machines

Hi all,

I just bought a 3 jacks machine that I know is an old reproduction. (dime machine) I also bought a 5 jacks machine and am wondering if they were ever reproduced? The best I know, they were not...Any information, greatly appreciated.

Steve yes there were reproduction 5 Jacks. I have a penny version. Here is a link to your version. I can't find anyting on the 5 Jacks.

Hi, Thanks for the info. I have talked to the guys that are making the reproduction 3 jacks machines a long time ago. I knew those were being reproduced. I have never heard or seen anything on the 5 jacks machines being reproduced. What would be a good way to tell? I have one coming that I think is an original. It is due to arrive Monday.

Steve this Five Jacks just showed up on eBay. Look at the difference between this and our machines.

Hi Ron,

Did more than one company build a 5 jacks machine? If my machine is not original, it has to be a very old reproduction...It is just that old...you can tell my 3 jacks machine is...but the wood, insides, etc on my 5 jacks looks way too old to be a repo..I don't know..

Looking at the eBay picture and yours these are two different machines. In Gustwiller's for Amusement Only book page 92 there is a 5 Jacks. This is like ours. It was made by Field Mfg. Co. 1930-1934. When I bought mine the seller told me it was a reproduction. At one of the St. Charles shows I saw one like mine. I think he wanted $250.00 for it. He told me it was a reproduction.

When I bought my 5 Jacks at the Kane Co. flea market in St. Charles Il. George Budzik was with the dealer at the stand. As you know George is acknowledged in the "Enes Silent Salesmen Too" book. George agreed that mine is a reproduction.

Yes I agree....Yours is a very clean example....Wood looks new, insides look new, etc...the one I bought maybe a reproduction too...I don't know for sure...what I do know is the wood on mine doesn't look new and the smell is definetly not new...so if mine is a reproduction...it is an old one...I am wondering when they first started reproducing these..even the base plate on mine has had time to warp...maybe from being stored in an old barn or something....but the metal, etc...looks and appears old. No big deal really...but when it comes to value, an original might stand out...
Your help on these machines stands out too...I appreciate your comments and taking the time to respond...I really enjoy them as I know you do too...
