Mills QT jackpot

I recently did a complete disassembly, cleaning and re-assembly of a 5¢ Chevron QT mechanism. The machine works great with one minor exception. Upon getting a jackpot the door releases but there is no spring to pull the door open making the jackpot dump, and gravity just doesn't seem to cut it.

I can't figure out what spring or part is missing and/or where it might go. Suggestions would be appreciated.

It has been a while since I tore a QT apart, but I don't think there is a spring on the JP door. It should fall open with gravity.

Sounds to me like something is binding somewhere.
