Rare Black Face Gum Machine on Ebay

Item number: 220203177477 appeared on Ebay on 2/17. If this if right it is a very rare machine. The Seller I have never seen before, and only has a feedback of 1. Everyone has to start on Ebay sometime. However when I see such a rare item, and the seller based on the description seems to knows what it is, I have to wonder why I never have seen the ebay name before bidding or selling in coin op.

A toy collector told me a neat trick. He says when he sees a very rare item on Ebay or anywhere else for that matter and he thinks something is "fishy" he emails for additional pictures. Specifcally a picture that the person should not normally have unless he has the machine. If the person truly has the item for sale, then additional pictures, should be no problem.

I emailed this person for a picture of the back etc. I have not gotten a response.

Searching the price guide I found one previous listing on eBay. That sold for $8780.00 on 12/16/2007. This is not the same one. Agreed with no coinop history for the seller I would take a pass on this one.

Seller did post more pictures and he does take paypal. May be worth taking a chance.

If you are the high bidder on this then I would recommend finding someone local to go pay and pick the machine up or jumping on a plane and getting it.

A feedback of 1 or 2 just screams scam to me.

FYI, the final price was $4,920, as cpretired stated the previous one sold for over $8,700

The buyer was coinmachines.

If the auction was legit., then it looks like coinmachines got himself a pretty good deal.
