Yep, seems he finally gave up on me paying.

And as usual the offender don't speak English too well.

Ebay and the police are not showing any interest. Ebay should be sued as being accomplices in the scam.

Now ebay finally closed the account (firefighter218)
The scammer will no doubt be back shortlywith a new hijacked id.

I have a name, street adress, bank account, phone number but I can't figure out where to report it. UK resident selling a Rolatop on US ebay to a Swedish bidder. Seems there is no authority willing or able to handle that.
Í think ebay need to put more of an effort into stopping the abuse.

I contacted eBay live about this.

Amazingly enough, after getting passed around to another agent, they investigated and removed the listing!

Just for grins, I made a bid of $2,000, when the current high bid was around $1,100.

I was outbid.

Anyway, it amazed me that eBay actually removed the listing as I chatted with the agent.

I then asked why eBay did not contact the high bidder of the initial scam listing (320271829196)? eBay didn't bother to end this listing early even though people told them it was a scam.

This agent couldn't answer my question and suggested I send an email to ebay.

The agent could not answer and passed the buck to another agent.

The other agent couldn't answer my question and suggested I fill out a form and have it sent to the ebay fraud department. Yeah, right!

Ebay should be sued as being accomplices in the scam.

This is interesting. It seems to me that if eBay knew about a fraud and did nothing to prevent it then they could be sued.

If I loaned a car to someone that I KNEW was going to rob a bank, even though I didn't participate in the crime couldn't the police come after me?

I thought there was a law in the US that if you know that someone is about to commit a crime then you have a responsibility to contact the authorities?

Any lawyers out there know for sure?

Well, after the listing was pulled I had a bunch of email from ebay, and in one they gaev me a phone numbér to call. I have talked to paypal before, getting my money back after being defrauded, but never talked to ebay. I think this is new? They don't want me to give the number out, it is only for "honoured members"

Anyway, I gave them all the info I had (name, phone number, street adress and bank account - at least two of these should be correct, no?)and they said they would pass it on to UK authorities. Whatever that means-

Since I bid on the last item, I also received a couple of emails from ebay.

However, none of them had a phone number for ebay so I guess I am not a honoured member.

When I was texting with the eBay live people I told them I was writing an article about scams and ebay (which I am). I really doubt it made any difference, but maybe they are taking this one a little more serious.

It's back again. I just reported this to eBay as a stolen account. The previous auction number was inserted in the message.

I think this is the 4th time and eBay KNOWS the user id has been stolen.
