Mills Roman Head 25 cent Machine Malfunction

Postby shawn fernandez » Thu Aug 26, 2010 6:45 am

My machine pays out two coins everytime I pull the lever. I have checked it for jammed coins, ensured that everything is well lubed, watched the online videoes, but still it pays out no matter what the dials are reading. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or where I should begin?

The lever that holds the master slide in front of the horizontal payout levers is probably gummed up or the master slide itself is not resetting properly.

How can I tell if the master slide is not setting properly. From all accounts, it appears as if the slide is returning to its original position after being locked out when the lever is pulled. FYI, this machine was working properly up until about a month ago.

Dave has it on the money. If you can cycle your machine out of the case you can observe the slides resetting. Also wind up the machine to just before the reels are set into motion, you should be able to move the horizontal fingers easily. Place something in the way of the clock fan so that it won't move, then after the reels spin you may let the machine unwind slowly by letting the clock run a little at a time. Be careful where you put your fingers they can be injured or severely pinched. T.J.

Did you ever take the reel bundle off by any chance?? because in the past i had this same problem when a tiny spacer fell out, it ended up messing with the alignment of the verticle and horizontal fingers (which ended up messing with the slides), though this would have only happened if the reels were removed.
