MGM Grand Fire Slot Machine

Postby StudlyManly » Sat Jul 15, 2023 7:23 am

Hello,
I hope someone can help me.
I got my hands on a '70s era slot Bally slot machine with MGM Grand graphics on it.
I have been told that it may have been in use at the casino when the fire occurred in 1980.
I can't find any information about this specific machine other than generic model info.
Has anyone ever seen one of these?
Thanks

My guess is that it was more likely used in the MGM GRAND Casino in Reno, Nevada, which opened in 1978 and has gone thru a few name changes and is now The Grand Sierra!
It is not considered an Upright slot machine however, FYI!

Thanks Monti,
I really haven't done anything with it.
It's been in storage since I got it and I have no idea what kind of mechanical condition it's in.
Do you suppose it's worth putting any money into it to get it operational?

Depends on current overall condition and what you paid for it if you don't want to put more into it then what it may be worth when your done,
I have Bally EM parts for it and Manuals, schematics, trouble shooting tips, Etc.
But just a suggestion, you could probably get more assistance on NLG, NEW LIFE GAMES forum for your Bally as they lean towards the later electronic slots,
https://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php
as most the folks on here are Vintage/Antique Slot Machine collectors, repair and parts people!
I just happen to burn the candle at both ends after working in the casinos in the 60's/70's and catching both the older mechanicals as well as the Bally's in the casino slot shop that came out in 63/64 time period and Service and have parts for both!
If you do work on it and need parts, reach out to me!
Ciao!
