1963 Mills Sahara slot machine

This is our first slot machine and we think it's a 1963. Can anyone tell me if it would ruin the value if we replaced some of the stickers on the reels? Also if anyone has an idea of the value I would appreciate knowing. It works really well as we have been playing on it non stop since we got it. Could someone also tell me what the little counters are for at the top? Sorry for so many questions, but this is my first one and have very little knowledge.
