Mills War Eagle 25 cent

Postby Cassel » Tue Nov 14, 2023 3:55 pm

I have recently acquired my first slot machine which is a Mills War Eagle quarter machine. I am have some trouble with the top coin feed mechanism. Facing the back of the slot on the left side there is a loose spring that obviously needs to be secured and some questionable alignment of the two (slide bars) for lack of proper names. They look to be not aligning correctly but I don't know proper alignment. Somebody has replaced the (coin stop) with a nail so obviously something malfunctioned and was rigged with the nail. It will also allow me to pull without feeding a quarter and I don't know if this is normal. Lastly I am slightly confused as to what service manual to order for this slot. Any help is greatly appreciated.

That nail as you call it is the coin sensing pin. It should be straight and it senses a coin when the machine is ready to be played. If no coin present the pin will move forward and not allow the machine to be played. If a coin is present the pin will not move forward and the machine then can be played. As it sets now the pin cannot move forward and the machines thinks there is a coin in place and allows the machine to be played.
