You seem to have misunderstood what watlingboy and rtmccurdey tried to tell you in their posts;
In the late 1920s, when slots with jackpots became popular, older machines without JPs quickly became virtually obsolete.
So Pace, RockOla, and many other companies made jackpot fronts to retro fit (revamp) slot machines without JPs (most commonly Mills and Jennings) to convert them into machines with JPs.
(for operators, this was a less expensive alternative to buying a new JP machine to replace a non-JP machine that could be kept in service).
