1964 Jennings Galaxy 25 cent

The transformers on the back of the cabinet gets very hot and was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to place something in-between the transformer and wooden cabinet. Any thoughts Thanks

The transformer is going bad. The lights do not take that much current.
