Mills Slot Machine

I just recently purchased my first antique slot machine and am new to the hobby. Does anyone have insight into what type of Mills slot machine this one is?

I’ve been doing a lot of research online, but I haven’t been able to find an exact match…

It's a Mills Hightop, circa late 1940's. It looks like the Bonus feature has been removed, which is the open panel in the top right that has been painted over. The Bonus mechanism pops up a letter in sequence: B-O-N-U-S based on those symbols coming up on the first reel. When you spell all the letters, then it pays out 18 coins, which was put on the machine to get the player to keep playing. But it appears that mechanism on your machine has been removed? You can see pictures of the Bonus machines on the various slot books. Attached is a picture of a double Bonus machine from the Chicagoland show a few years back.

Thanks for the info! I checked inside, and the bonus mechanism was removed.

Are there any reproduction parts on the market that could be purchased to add a bonus mechanism back into the machine?

The Bonus mechanisms pop up on eBay occasionally but, they are normally pretty pricey.

Looks like your mechanism has been changed also, I believe you would need a whole new mechanism, not just the bonus part, at least new reel bundle and strips with the bonus strips. And also award card and jackpot. I dont think it ever was a bonus, more likely someone stuck the bonus top casting on a 777 hightop.

For sure it seems like a multimachine composite. Otherwise there wouldn't be award information on each of the separate front castings.
