Caille Superior Elevating Coin Dogs

I have a Caille Superior slot machine and it appears that the elevating coin dogs have stopped working. The coins simply pile up and don’t move upwards. My husband is generally handy and I was wondering if anyone can point us in some directions to better evaluate and fix this issue.

Pull the mech out and check the spring on that side. It’s either come off or broken. Also, there is an adjustment screw there that may need resetting. I had something similar happen
