FINALLY - A working Jennings Century MINT VENDOR.

Well after all these years I found the vendor parts that were missing from my Jennings Century. Actually I got them months ago and just now went through them. Pardon my lack of terminology here. My Century had the inside (mounted on the left wooden side) side lever that is pushed up by another lever on the mechanism. But inside, it was missing the connecting link with the "flipper" that releases the mint dispense "roller" mechanism.
So I actually have an extra side lever still and it's got an extra piece on it! I have no clue what it's for, perhaps another type of Jennings?
The other issue I had was that the pin attached to the lever on the mechanism wasn't going high enough to trip the release, no matter how much I tried to make adjustments.
So I fabricated a thick plastic "washer extender" that slipped on that pin. I epoxyed them together with the larger one toward the outside.
Surprisingly... it worked! I hope this all makes senes. See photos and video.
I bought this machine a few years ago and it had been "restored" although not the best I've seen. It was missing one glass on the front for the vendor and missing the lower aluminum panels on the bottom sides as well as the "lightening bolt" on the one side. Oh... and the locks all around.
Now it has those side panels back and locks all around other than the main back door. They don't really match since someone chromed the existing panels that wrap around to the front. I'll have to do some research and see that these really looked like originally.
Regardless, the whole thing works properly including the jackpot and reserve.

Interesting! The bottom piece looks different than mine, but hard to tell. It looks almost like there's a broken part?

I was going to start a separate topic for my extra bracket but I'll just discuss it here. Still sad not to get the usually immediate reply from Monti.

The weird thing is that I had bought a bunch of parts just to get the vendor parts I needed (sided, shelf supports, etc.). What was missing in mine was the part that advanced the roller. My existing original side lever worked but I had to add that plastic washer.
So I have an extra side lever with two attachments on it. The lower part is different than mine and it has another lever midway. I have no idea what that is for.
I have a feeling all these vendor mechanism were not all the same depending on when the machine was made. I'd like to put this bracket up for sale somewhere - eBay still seems to be the best place but I hate the fees! Maybe I should list it here first.

I think it would be a better idea to keep it... Because you never know... Who knows what the future is you might find another vendor that needs that part... You won't get much for it anyway. Keep it.

Good point! I guess I'll box it up and stick it in my cabinet of parts! I did list the wooden sides on eBay and I still have the shelf supports that I really don't need.
I need to order some fake mint rolls from Dave I guess. I haven't ordered from him in many years, since he sort of went off line and stopped replying.

I took a better photo of the part, from what I can tell I don't see any broken parts just a little rust is all... I never owned a vendor, I don't know what to look for...

From what member 63mini told me, that lever can vary in appearance if the machine can accept checks and coins, so it would not allow a turn of the mint vendor mech if you used a check. I need to find some diagrams somewhere.
In the meantime, here's a diagram showing exactly what I have in my Century and the part I was missing. Everything else was still there thankfully.
