National 9M Cigarette Machine assist

Postby a_gunslinger » Fri Jul 03, 2026 8:19 pm

Just acquired this National 9M

Probably going to get the restore video for 7M from Vintage Restorations if still available becaue I have so many questions

Priumarily:

How to test that flourescent fixture, old tombstone connectors. Missing bulb. So wondering size, type, etc.
Plug from wall to machine looks intact and good shape and so does its receptical. Two prong plug end that goes from light to receptacle in machine will need replaced (missing pne prong).
How to test this stuff with a multimeter? Tombstone show 660W and 250 V.

Crash course in the mechanics. What has to occur when money deposited to allow the pull lever to come out all the way?

So many questions.

Any manuals out there? Not much Youtube or other info I could find on first pass.

Thanks all.

The starter is a sf2 or fs3 depend on the wattage of the bulb that you use.
