MILLS HIGH TOP - SIZES OF SPRINGS?

Postby WaikikiWayne » Sat Oct 31, 2026 9:25 am

Hi Everyone - YES, I am new here. I own a Mills High Top 5¢ Machine that came from the US Navy Enlisted Club in Okinawa, Japan.

Two (2) Items to Address:

1. I'm in the process of bringing it back to life. My question is about Replacement Parts (Springs). Is there a List, .pdf, website, etc., that shows the actual Sizes of the Extension Springs used on the Vintage High Tops?

2. I'm looking for a New, Used or Digital Copy of: Mills Slot Machines: The complete Service Manual 1906-1969....... No Luck.... (Anyone have a copy??)

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!

So far I've had a really good experience with thunderfivefive on ebay. I also have a Mills hi top. As far as springs go, go to his ebay site and type in the search what you are looking far.

A good repair/restoration book to use is the "Owner's Pictorial Guide For the Care and Understanding of The Mills Bell Slot Machine" by Robert Geddes and Daniel Mead - you should be able to find that on eBay or another book selling site. I've used it on repairing Mills slot for several decades.
