Another Reproduction on Ebay?

I noticed this new posting in ebay. Is it a reproduction?
Yes in my book.
The saler advertised it as "Very Clean and Original"

The buckley castings are probably the only original parts, but all other items( escaltator, mech etc.) Look to be standard reproduction parts.
I'm not sure if there is a "collecter of buckley" out there that can weigh in, but i would be curious of the realistic price this machine could get.

I bought some Buckleys many years ago when I bought a bunch of machines from an Eagles club.

I think the machine is legit. The back door looks correct, the handle is correct, the cash box is correct.

I think the escalator and mech. look right as well.

What about this makes you think it is a repro? Just because it is apart? Looks correct to me.

Looked at it again, actually looks like a nice machine. That is the Buckley escalator and appears to be in really nice unrestored condition. Also, no one would repro a dime machine ever, unless it was a Q.T. or a Little Duke.

My clues as to why i think it's a repro....

The escalator is missing the token check as well as the mech. Commonly found in reproduction machines. The bottom plate and mech are painted grey.

The coin box is from a jennings.

There are a lot of repros that have the drill plates. We(C&A Slots) will use reproduction machines for "customer designed themed machines" we have seen a lot of reproduction machine with full drill plates.

It's easy to change the dinomination of a machine. If the casting is for a dime, all that needs to be replaced are the escalator, tube, and slides.

The top casting lends itself to the easy switch of the dinomination button (where the coin goes). It is currently a dime, but for ten bucks, can be changed to any other coin.

These are just my thoughts.

This is a nice machine, and looks completely original to me. I worked on several of these models, many years ago. No one in their right mind would waste time reproing one of these.
Then again, I could be wrong. There is an IDIOT that makes up phoney Jennings Light-ups, and Bastardizes once-nice-original Trade Stimulators. Maybe they butter each others toast!

Those were the two items which caused my concerns. I personally will not purchase or bid on machines that are missing the token check on the merch or escalator.

I wrote that article and you need to look at all the evidence.

99% of the fakes are quarter and nickel (majority being quarter). This is a dime machine.

Look at the baseplate of the fake in the picture you provided and the baseplate of the one on eBay. Big difference.

The lack of the check detection hardware was probably never done on Buckley machines because they were done after checks were really used.

The cash box is correct for this machine. People who do the fakes do not use real cash boxes.

Same with the back door. I have never seen a fake with the steel sides on the inside of the wood. People who are making the fakes want to make as much money as possible. Putting in those steel sides would cost money.

Finally, this is a relatively low end machine. Why would someone bother to fake it?

I still think the machine is legitimate.
