New ebay listing, I had to chuckle..

Should some kindly soul inform the seller that the coin actually goes in the front, not the top and that it's a counter-top game?
(Or should I just shut up in case it's a particularly rare piece?) :roll:

Andy:
No, you don't have to 'shut up'. It's not a rare piece. It is a very common Exhibit Supply "Sweet Sally", with the playfield card missing, (which was originally wood-grain painted metal).
It is rather interesting that the seller thinks it is supposed to standup. Maybe he thinks it's one of the British Wall Machines. And look, you can watch the mechanism operate too! #-o
I know, I know! The seller shouldn't be hammered-on. Many people do not know what these little dandys are.
Several years ago, there was a seller that listed a very common Groetchen "Imp", which just about every collector has one or more. The listing header read - "RARE, RARE, RARE IMP". :lol:
RARE has been one of the most mis-used words in any collectable listing. The only time that I do not laugh at it's use, is if an item IS truely a 'One-of-a-kind', or only 2 or 3 known. That's it, period!

I sent the seller a little info on this machine;
we'll see if he posts it.

I'm no kind soul;
just doing penance for previous deeds.

Good point Bill.
I concur, the term is bandied about all too often and it annoys the b'jeesus out of me - particularly when applied to those repro Golden Nuggets and War Eagles.
(I may shortly post a few pics of a truly rare machine I happen to have in my collection,,,,,,,,, :?: )

Well done nvmos2, I'm sure the seller will be appreciative.

Gee, I wonder what machine that could be? :roll: Hmmmmm! Could it possibly start with a 'C'? Still digging for a pix or two. This will keep the troopers thinking!

Item relisted:

I guess the seller hasn't taken heed of nvmos2's advice as the coin still "goes in the top"... :roll:

I know he got my email; he promptly acknowledged it with a polite "Thank You"
That was early in the first listing with plenty of time to revise the description.
Not exactly the most honest seller.

OK andydotp;
you've peaked our interest;
we're waiting for photos of that "Truly rare machine."
