I am going to the Chicago show this Saturday. I am a newbie looking to buy my first slot machine. I like the Jennings machines but what would I look for to make sure I don't end up with a reproduction or something made up that is not correct like the machine listed at auction 63. Is there a machine you could recommend that would not break the bank but should hold its value or go up in value.

Under NO circumstances, focus on ANY machines in the booth of 'The Bent Coin'. He makes-up Light-up Jennings machines from common models, and may even re-do some of the Foreign models as well.
Also take into consideration, that other dealers may be selling one of his from an earlier purchase. I would suggest staying away from any light-ups for now. There are many Jennings models, that are
good playing machines, and are in the lower dollar range. If you want to be safe in your first purchase, and if Dave is there on Saturday, have him paged, and meet with him, to help steer you in the
right direction. I am also sure that cpdretired will be there, so if you can somehow make a connection with him, I'm sure he will be of great help to you as well. Send him a PM, and give him your
name, so he can page you. If you don't find a Jennings machine you like, there is always some reasonable Mills models, or others, to focus on. But, be aware of the many Mills REPRO's that are flooding
our market. Do Not want to hear of you getting Stung with a Repro. Good Luck with your search, Bill

I just want to thank everyone for their help, I was able to find original Jennings nickel and dime slots at the show. Dave spent a lot of time walking around the show with me, pointing out things to look for and introducing me to dealers. Everyone I met was very helpfull.

I have been reading this forum for a couple of years now and find it very helpful and interesting , I have been collecting for years and have a pretty good size collection of slots and arcade but not many real valuable pieces , I have been to the Chicago show in the past but always get nervous about buying because of not being sure I can find a shipper at a fare price, I am hoping to go to the show next year and would really like to meet Dave and talk to him about buying he seems like a super guy. Keep up the good work everyone ,like I said this is a great forum
