Introduction with questions

Hello,
My name is JimK and I am from central KY and new to this forum. I see that most of the folks here are into slot machines, I however know very little about them. I have loved coin op machines of all sorts for most of my life. Not sure what it is about them that I like but I rarely question a thing when it is fun. I have had a fairly good number of coin op machines over the years. Most have moved on to new homes though. I have a couple of common gumball machines and a Wurlitzer 1400 jukebox (work in progress) still, but the reason that I joined the forum is that I have just found a Big Top gum /shooting gallery machine. I know nothing about it other than for some reason in has Pepsi cans and bottles as targets. I think that it is early to mid 60’s but not sure. I found it at a pawn shop and it looked like it needed a good home. Not sure if it works yet (I won’t get it home until this weekend). But I was hoping that someone here may know something about them and maybe what I should look for when I get it home.
Anyway Thanks for any thoughts or input.

Hi Jim
I have the same gun game, it was made in 1960 by the J.F. Frantz Mfg. Co. Chicago Il., it came with several different target back grounds, mine has the space ships targets, it also came with a western theme target and I believe a Coca Cola target as well, the gun is a A.B.T. gun, it takes the large gumballs, real fun game, gets more use than my pin balls or video games machines.

Thanks responce and info Al. I really like the space targets. I remeber the western ones from when I was a kid. I hope to get the machine home today or tomorrow and see if it works. I am sure that it will need a good cleaning and maybe some lubrication but I am hopeful that it will not be too bad. I have never worked on one of these and do not know what to expect.

Don't know if it is purely coincidental or a result of this thread,
but a listing for the Space Shot front casting just popped up on flebay
for a price of $395 OBO, about 4 times the price at Crow River.

Kind of like Rick's Restorations.

He gets a job to restore an antique slot. Charges about what one could buy a nice restored one for and then goes out and buys the restored slot machine and presents that to the owner.

Easy solution for a situation such as this:
Next time wafa510 catches a fish at $395.00 with that casting, and calls Crow River, they say the casting is now $350.00 to them. Problem solved.
Or better yet, Crow River should put one on eBay themselves, at the $90.00 they sell them for. I can't believe wafa510 lists them at that price.

This is similar to a situation, regarding davisd123, that lists reel strips for the Groetchen "Imp" on eBay. He ordered a set of both cigarette, and
fruit symbol "Imp" strips from me, a few years ago. In about a week, he copied my strips, and started listing them, and still does to this day, at
$13.99 plus $2.99 shipping. I have seen the strips get bid up to $35+ on occasion. First of all, when you are selling reproduction paper items, they
have a set price, you DON"T BID ON THEM. I have been selling my "Imp" strips for many years at $10.00 ppd. He also has the audacity, to say in his
description, that his has "peel & stick paper, unlike some other cheap paper copies that must be glued on". Well, guess who copied those cheap
paper ones, that makes his even worse? First of all, they didn't have peel & stick back in the 30's & 40's, so guess all my customers have to make
a big mess with the glue. Gimmie-a-break! He is also listing these same strips, for the Daval "Cub", in which he added the name CUB, and switched
the reel numbers, so they are not in the correct order. Even though these strips will fit the "Cub", they are NOT the same cigarette pack layout that
the "Cub" originally had. He has also been selling reel strips for the Mills "Vest Pocket", that he bought from someone else, around the same time as mine,
at the same price & shipping, with the same persnickety comment in the description. This Clown is in the same class as the Vegas Butcher.

hello everyone. Thank you all for making me feel welcome. Well I got the game home and have started the clean up process. Everything seems to be OK but the target rotating mechanism seems sluggish and only moves 6 or so times instead of the 10 it should. I have cleaned and oiled it but was wondering if anyone here might know what the proper adjustment is and how to do it. Any and all help would be appreciated.
