Daval Free Play Reels won't spin

I have a Daval Free Play trade stimulator bought at auction. It was part of the auction of items from the Virginia City, Nevada Slot Machine Museum. The machine is clean and in excellent physical condition, however the reels won't spin. I actually have a second Free Play in rough condition and it has the same problem. Does anyone know if this is a common problem, and possibly know of a fix?

You should be able to play a coin and stop the machine and check if the wheels spin at all. The biggest issue I have had with that is the reels getting sticky from old grease. Be careful if you go to lubricate them it doesn't drip down on the wheels and ruin the strips.

a daval free play does not take coins, hence, the name free play.

Daval freeplay does take coins,freeplay comes from you win free games.Look at page 148 Bueschel tradestimulator book.Thanks

Daval Free Play does NOT pay out coins .. you win points on a wheel inside. You can play these points (free play) or have the store clerk cash them in.... "hence the name free play" but not really free ... but it looks good to law enforcement.
