Lately, there have been reports of adult items showing up in the wrong
categories. When members click on them, they are taken to a fake sign-in
page. This is a new type of spoof. We usually detect that type of
listing almost immediately, so the auction has most likely been removed.
Fortunately, there are free browser tools out there that can help tell
you if you’re on a fake sign-in page. The eBay Toolbar "account guard"
feature for Internet Explorer helps you detect spoofed eBay sites. You
can download it here:

It’s recommended that you download the latest version of Internet
Explorer 7. This contains new security features, including built-in
spoof site detection tools. When installing IE7, please enable these

Alternatively, if you use Firefox, we also strongly urge you to use the
Google Toolbar for Firefox. The Google Toolbar provides you with extra
protection against fake or “phishing” web sites. For more information
